Lisa Moussaoui, Ph.D. Founder

After studying Applied Psychology at Geneva University, I have done a doctoral thesis on collective pro-social behaviours (blood donation and pro-environmental behaviours) under the supervision of Pr. Olivier Desrichard. I defended my Ph.D. thesis in 2017, before going to Australian and Belgium Universities to gain broader research experience. Since my return, I have been a lecturer and research fellow at Geneva University. My classes focus on behaviour change techniques and intervention evaluation.

Since 2019, I run in parallel a consulting activity for various partners (Public administration, international organisations) with projects involving behaviour change for health promotion and pro-environmental behaviour. The company Behaviour Change Expertise was founded in order to perform this consultancy activity.

Samym Karim,

Intern

Currently in my third year at the School of General Studies, I am pursuing a path that allows me to progressively explore my interests and refine my career goals. Psychology is a field that has always intrigued me, particularly for its ability to explain human behavior and social interactions. This internship gives me the opportunity to discover its practical applications. Being athletic and extroverted, I especially enjoy interacting with others and situations that involve direct communication. As part of this internship, I am responsible for meeting with relevant individuals to present the project and invite them to participate. This role allows me to develop my interpersonal skills while actively contributing to the project’s implementation. While I am still learning, this experience is a valuable opportunity to familiarize myself with the professional environment and gain initial experience in the field of applied psychology.

Malick Mbaye,

Sociology student

I work at Behaviour Change Expertise on a project aimed at promoting men’s mental health. To this end, we created a survey that I am administering to barbers in the canton of Geneva to gauge their willingness to act as intermediaries on this important issue.

Loris Charrière,

Msc.- Psychologist

Humans and their functioning have long been a source of fascination for me. Understanding the reasons that drive our actions has always seemed essential to better grasp the world around us. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Applied Psychology in Sustainable Development at the University of Geneva. This program allowed me to acquire extensive knowledge about the social, emotional, and environmental factors influencing behavior, but it also helped me discover a passion for project management and knowledge sharing.

My experiences as an intern at the Department of Territory of the State of Geneva, as well as during projects in collaboration with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), only reinforced this initial passion for people and understanding their actions.

It was with great enthusiasm that I was recruited by Behavior Change Expertise upon graduating. Our team was tasked with identifying the underlying psychological factors influencing soft mobility behaviors. This understanding should enable us to provide recommendations for future projects aiming to encourage such actions. At the moment, I am also working on a project about men’s mental health.

Barbara Kaiser,Ph.D.

– Psychologist

Doctor of Psychology since 2008 and holder of a university diploma in cognitive and behavioural therapy, I began by practising in the field of behavioural disorders and poly-drug use with adolescents entrusted to social assistance. In the context of youth health promotion, and more specifically contraception, I also had the opportunity to intervene for the Maison des adolescents de Savoie. As a professor at the Geneva University of Health Sciences for more than a decade, I developed a course on motivational interviewing as an intervention tool (smoking, alcohol consumption, drug addiction, nutrition, domestic violence, chronic diseases). During this period I started to train health professionals in psychoeducational interviewings using simulation with standardised patients. My research activities have focused on the determinants of health behaviour, particularly in the perinatal context (physical activity, nutrition, screening) and the development of professional know-how and skills. I have been a lecturer at the University of Geneva since 2019, where I teach motivational interviewing as well as risk prevention and health promotion. I am also in charge of the development of simulated interactions curricula and I am a speaker in several continuing education courses, in particular for Behaviour Change Expertise.

Chloé Serugendo,

Msc.- Psychologist

My journey began with a deep-rooted desire to work closely with people. Recognizing that understanding human behavior was key, I chose to delve into psychology. Alongside this, my exposure to technology consistently revealed a gap: some technologies lacked user-friendliness. Driven by this realization, I embarked on a mission to bridge that gap.
Following my master’s degree in applied psychology, I pursued a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in web development with EPFL to gain a deeper understanding of the tools involved. Simultaneously, I obtained a certificate in web design, equipping me with the knowledge needed to modify user experiences.
Despite these diverse skills, my true passion lies in research. My professional journey began at Google Travel, where I learned original research methods from one of the user-friendliness pioneers. Currently, I’ve expanded my interest, by also evaluating the service we provide to our customers as I work as a Customer experience researcher at Migros Online.
